First Physical Prototype Ordered
The first physical CORVO-001 Rev A prototype has been ordered. The program moves from digital engineering to hardware.
Every number published so far — mass, balance, wall thickness — comes from the digital model. That was the point of the digital phase: resolve the geometry until the remaining questions can only be answered by a part you can hold.
The first aluminum prototype is intentionally unfinished. No anodize, no top mark. Its job is to validate geometry and feel, not cosmetics: how the crown lands in the palm, how the neck reads under fingertips, whether the calculated balance is perceptible in the hand.
Technical Notes
- Prototype configuration: 6061-T6 body, bead blast, no anodize, blank top field.
- First-article priorities: exterior geometry conformance, hand feel, insert bore verification.
Decisions Made
- First prototypes are machined without final finish or branding so surface and feel can be judged directly.
Open Questions
- Does perceived balance in hand match the calculated 42.6% below-midplane figure?
- Does the shoulder locate the hand without reading as a ridge?
