Adapter Bore Revision

The internal adapter bore was reduced from Ø22 mm to Ø19 mm, preserving a validated 5.5 mm neck wall around the insert.

The insert bore lives inside the narrowest region of the knob. At Ø22 mm, the surrounding neck wall fell below the preferred band. Rather than thin the wall or widen the neck — which would have compromised either structure or the locked exterior — the bore itself was revised.

At Ø19 × 14 mm, the bore still accepts a steel insert with useful ballast mass while keeping the neck wall at 5.5 mm, inside the preferred 5.5–7.0 mm band.

Technical Notes

  • Bore revised Ø22 → Ø19 mm; depth 14.0 mm.
  • Neck wall held at 5.5 mm; minimum wall anywhere in the part 4.5 mm.
  • Automated wall-thickness validation runs against the parametric model.

Decisions Made

  • Ø22 mm bore rejected. Structural wall thickness outranks insert volume.

Open Questions

  • Final insert geometry and retention mechanism remain under engineering review.
